School Rules & Regulations

Discipline, Punctuality, and Integrity — The Cornerstones of Excellence at TBGS

1. General Information

Attendance & Leave Rules

  • Students must be regular in attendance.
  • Absence should be informed as early as possible through an application or other communication.
  • Up to 3 days leave per month may be granted for:
    • Illness
    • Medical appointments
    • Death in the family
    • Religious observances
  • Absence for other reasons will not be accepted.
  • Attendance is marked twice daily:
    • Before morning assembly
    • After the interval/lunch break
  • Minimum 75% attendance is required to appear in final examinations.

Nursery to UKG Classes

  • Students must bring a napkin to school.
  • Students must carry proper identification details (name, address, phone number, etc.).
  • Nutritious food should be packed in the tiffin box.
  • School operates from Monday to Saturday.
  • Wednesday and Saturday are PT uniform days.
  • Only HB pencils are allowed.
  • Fancy pencils, expensive pencil boxes, and costly stationery items are not permitted.

Classes I to XII

  • Students must carry a rough notebook.
  • School bags must have proper identification details.
  • Fancy pencil boxes are not allowed.
  • Only simple compasses (without screws) are permitted.
  • Use of calculators is prohibited.
  • Wednesday and Saturday are PT uniform days.
  • Only HB pencils (up to Class V) and fountain pens (Class VI onwards) should be used.

2. Note to Parents / Guardians

The school requests kind cooperation for quality education and discipline.

Parent Responsibilities

  • Parents should regularly check and sign the school diary.
  • Remarks in the diary should be read and countersigned.
  • Parents should not visit classrooms or wards directly.
  • Meetings with Principal, Coordinator, or Teachers should be arranged through diary communication.
  • Ensure regularity and punctuality of the child.
  • Ensure neat and proper school uniform.
  • Junk food is not allowed in school.
  • Send healthy and hygienic food with children.
  • Encourage participation in extracurricular and co-curricular activities.
  • Students must speak English within the school campus.
  • Irregular attendance, negligence in homework, disobedience, and disrespect may lead to disciplinary action.

Diary Monitoring

Parents should regularly monitor:

  • Daily routine at home
  • Late attendance records
  • Leave records
  • Inter-school competitions
  • Teacher's notes
  • Examination schedules and syllabus portions
  • Academic performance
The Student's Diary is to be perused daily and signed when required.

Additional Guidelines

  • Ensure textbooks and notebooks are neatly maintained.
  • Check homework daily and ensure completion.
  • Parents may meet teachers every Saturday after school hours.
  • Students are responsible for their belongings (books, pencils, tiffin carriers).
  • Writing on walls, furniture, or damaging school property is prohibited.
  • Jewellery and flowers on school uniforms are not permitted.
  • School fees must be paid as per rules.

3. Disciplinary Action

Leave of Absence

  • Prior written permission is required for:
    • Extending holidays
    • Attending family functions
    • Other personal reasons
  • Applications must be approved by the Principal/Vice Principal/Coordinator.
  • Students sick for more than 3 days must submit a medical certificate.
Leave Rules (Additional): Leave applications must be submitted in advance. Emergency leave requires an absence note signed by parent.

Absence & Long Absence

  • All absences must be recorded in the school diary.
  • Absence must be sanctioned by the class teacher on the next day.
  • Unexplained absence for more than 5 consecutive days may result in removal of the student's name from school rolls.
  • Re-admission requires approval and payment of re-admission fees.
  • Leave exceeding two days in a month will not be granted except on medical grounds.
  • Medical leave requires a valid medical certificate.

Sickness & Re-opening

  • Students returning after infectious/contagious diseases must provide a fitness certificate.
  • Students must attend school on the reopening day after vacations.
  • Absence without approval for more than 5 days after vacations may lead to dismissal.

Late Coming & Early Leaving

  • Late students must get diary signatures from the coordinator.
  • Students arriving more than 10 minutes late must report to the Principal.
  • School gate closes after the second bell.
  • Assembly attendance is compulsory.
  • Students cannot leave school before closing time.
  • Parents must personally collect the child or obtain Principal's permission.

Uniform & Diary Violations

  • Students without proper uniform or school diary may be:
    • Fined
    • Sent back home
    • Marked absent

Unfair Means

  • Cheating during tests/examinations is strictly prohibited.
  • Assisting others in cheating is prohibited.
  • Tampering with answer sheets or marks is prohibited.
  • No leave will be permitted during examinations. Any absence during exams will be treated as absent.
  • Violations may result in:
    • Zero marks
    • Subject repetition
    • Dismissal

4. Private Tuition Rules

Private Tuition Guidelines

  • Private tutors may be engaged only after Principal's approval.
  • The school is not responsible for disputes between parents and tutors.
  • The school is not responsible for any incidents arising from private tuition arrangements.
Parents/Guardians are advised to exercise due diligence when engaging private tutors.

5. Withdrawal Rules

Withdrawal & Dismissal

  • Withdrawal must be communicated in writing at least 10 days in advance.
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) will be issued within one working week.
  • Students withdrawing in April or May must pay fees up to June.
  • The school may ask parents to withdraw a student if:
    • Academic progress is unsatisfactory
    • Conduct is harmful to others
    • Fees are not paid on time
    • Continued presence is considered undesirable
  • Honesty, discipline, cleanliness, good manners, and loyalty are expected from every student.
  • Immoral behavior, misconduct, disrespect to authority, or intentional property damage may result in dismissal.

6. Fee Rules

  • Late fee of ₹5 per day will be charged after the due date.
  • If fees remain unpaid for more than one month, the student's name may be removed from school rolls.

  • 2% discount on total fees if paid before 5th July.

7. School Uniform Rules

General Grooming Rules

  • All girls must maintain two braids daily.
  • All boys must have a proper army haircut.
  • Jewellery and flowers on uniform are not permitted.

Summer Uniform (Girls)

Nursery to VIII:

  • House T-Shirt (Half Sleeves) with White Pant/Skirt with Belt (Wed & Sat)
  • Yellow T-Shirt with Green Collar and Grey Pant/Skirt with Belt

IX to XII:

  • White Salwar Kurta with House Colour Dupatta (Wed & Sat)
  • Grey Salwar and Yellow Kurta with Grey Dupatta

Summer Uniform (Boys)

Nursery to V:

  • House T-Shirt with White Pant with Belt (Wed & Sat)
  • Yellow T-Shirt with Green Collar and Grey Pants with Belt

VI to XII:

  • House T-Shirt with White Full Pants with Belt (Wed & Sat)
  • Yellow Shirt (Half Sleeves) and Dark Grey Full Pants with Belt

Winter Uniform

Nursery to V: Maroon Sweater over House T-Shirt/Yellow T-Shirt with respective pants.

VI to VIII: Maroon Blazer over Maroon Sleeveless Sweater + House T-Shirt/Yellow Shirt with pants.

Girls IX-XII: Maroon Blazer over Maroon Sleeveless Sweater + White Salwar Kurta with House Dupatta OR Yellow Kurta with Grey Salwar.

Boys IX-XII: Maroon Blazer over Maroon Sleeveless Sweater + House T-Shirt/Yellow Shirt with Dark Grey Full Pants.

PT Uniform (Wednesday & Saturday)

  • White T-Shirt, Blue Check Short/Divider, White Socks, White Shoes
  • House T-Shirt (Half Sleeves) with White Pant/Skirt with Belt

Stationery Rules

  • Nursery to Class V: Only HB pencils allowed
  • Class VI onwards: Fountain pens only
  • No fancy pencil boxes or expensive materials
  • Simple compasses (without screws) allowed; calculators prohibited
Note: All students must come to school in proper uniform as per the schedule. Non-compliance may result in fines or being sent back home.
